About The Author Matthew Felgus, MD

Matthew Felgus, MD is board‑certified in Addiction Medicine and Psychiatry. A past president of the Wisconsin Society of Addiction Medicine and a Distinguished Fellow of ASAM, he has treated individuals with substance use, abuse, and dependence for nearly three decades. Before medical school, he worked as a drug counselor, a perspective he brings to his physician practice today. He speaks nationally to medical trainees, clinicians, students, and community groups about addiction, treatment, and recovery.
